Parade Details

Ahead of the parade: 

  • Drink lots of water the day prior and morning of (Also bring water with you to the parade! We'll have some water available.)

  • Wear sunscreen

  • Have your metro route (or parking) planned, but it is advised to utilize the metro

  • Wear your Table shirt. 

  • The theme is "TheFabric of Freedom." Feel free to let that inspire your garb. Blurb from Capital Pride: As "DC hosts WorldPride in 2025 and commemorates 50 years, we will welcome visitors from around the world to celebrate our vibrant community and continue the fight for equality. Every one of us — new threads woven together — strengthen the fabric of our community, and of this global movement. WEAVING FABRIC, COMMUNITY, DIVERSITY, GLOBAL CULTURES, UNITY, EQUALITY, FREEDOM."

  • Make a sign in the spirit of our church values and the love we want to share! If you have a flag, bring it. We are currently locating our flags as they have changed storage locations. 

Where you enter: Enter from Rhode Island Ave & 15th St NW

Where we line up: 15th St between Q & R  (we are advised to stand in the bike lane as vehicles and floats will also share this street.)

When to arrive: 1:00 PM (both food and vehicle traffic will be heavy, so plan accordingly.)

***Please, check-in with Jess when you arrive. I would like to keep an accurate count of who is with us. This is a change from years past. 

Parade kick-off: 2:00 PM - Be advised, we will not start moving at 2:00 PM. 

Capital Pride has indicated our entry point to the staging area is Rhode Island and 15th. You are welcome to try a shorter route to get there, but be advised that road closures might prevent it. Here are the designated crossings I am aware of: 

  • 14th & R Streets, NW 

  • 14th & P Streets, NW

  • 14th & N Streets, NW

  • 14th & K Streets, NW

  • 14th & New York Streets, NW

  • 12th & Pennsylvania Streets, NW  

First Aid Stations:

  • St Lukes Church (1514 15th Street) 

  • Parade Step-off (15th & T) 

  • Thomas Circle (at 14th Street) 

  • Navy Memorial (701 Pennsylvania Ave) 

  • Dispersal (9th & Constitution)  

There will be portapots at the following locations: 

O, P, Q, R, S, T (at 15th Streets)

Changes from years past: We will not have an official hang out ahead of the parade. Should you make plans before the parare, make sure to allocate time to arrive to meet up at 1:00 PM. There is no post-parade event as the festival will also be occurring. You are free to explore the festival if you'd like.

Nearest parking garages are Colonial Parking (601 Penn Ave NW) and Union Station Parking Garage for oversized vehicles (101 H Street NE).
